  A: Service of the upper intake manifold starts with removing the air cleaner outlet pipe then unplugging the throttle body electrical connector. Detach the throttle body using the four bolts and keep it aside while getting rid of its gasket. First cut the connection between the evaporative emissions tube to the upper intake manifold then remove the vacuum tube clamp bolt before disconnecting the vacuum tube and positive crankcase ventilation tube from the intake manifold. To begin the EGR valve electrical connector needs disconnection and the EGR tube-to-EGR valve nut requires loosening before disconnecting the manifold absolute pressure sensor electrical connector with its pin-type retainer. Detach the wiring harness retainer from the front of the upper intake manifold before removing the eight bolts to take off the intake manifold for discarding the gaskets. Install new gaskets before installing the upper intake manifold on the cleaned sealing surfaces by using the eight bolts which should be tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) according to the specified installation sequence. Reinstall the wiring harness retainer and attach MAP sensor electrical connector alongside pin-type retainer. Install the EGR tube-to-EGR valve nut with a torque of 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). The EGR valve electrical connector joins with the PCV tube while the vacuum tube connects to the intake manifold at which point install and tighten the vacuum tube clamp bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Fasten the EVAP tube while using a new gasket to secure the throttle body using the gasket with four bolts tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). After reconnecting the throttle body electrical connector install the air cleaner outlet pipe once more.
