You must have the vehicle in neutral position while using a hoist during the knock sensor (KS) servicing operation. Before working start disconnect the battery ground cable and proceed to remove the intake manifold. First disconnect the knock sensor bolt before removing both the bolt and the sensor. Installation requires following the backward steps of removal while torquing the bolt to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
