The A/C Condenser as a heat exchanger features in most of the Ford Taurus manufactured cars and primarily works to cool the refrigerant gas to transform it into a liquid state. Located in front of or straddling the radiator, this is the main part of vehicle composed of tubes that define the functioning of conversion. Although there might have been changes in the kind or the model of A/C Condenser used in different models of Taurus at diverse times, the main goal does not change and it is to properly cool the refrigerant; to support and enhance the performance of the air conditioning of the vehicle.

Ford Taurus A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Condenser on Ford Taurus?
    A:
Service and repair of the HVAC condenser requires starting with vehicle placement into neutral gear before positioning on a hoist. First drain out the engine coolant while recovering the refrigerant. Begin by taking off the front Bumper cover while unclamping the upper Radiator Hose at the Radiator before disconnecting the hose. Detach the engine cooling fan before disassembling both radiator bracket clips from the radiator support until the radiator can be pushed toward the rear. The two radiator brackets should be removed before unscrewing the two condenser fitting nuts and disconnecting the fittings while throwing out the O-ring seals and gasket seals. Follow the installation process by applying torque between 133.lb-in to 15.Nm on all fittings. Release the two transmission cooler line clamps, detach lines from condenser core elements before removing two A/C condenser bolts that need to be tightened to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) for proper installation. Raise the condenser core upward to unclip it from the radiator before you withdraw the component. Follow the opposite installation steps to place the new condenser core while also applying new gasket seals and O-ring seals together with adding the required amount of clean PAG oil into the refrigerant system. Evacuation and leak testing of the refrigerant system must be followed by charging as part of the final installation steps and completing the transmission fluid at its recommended level.
  • Q: How to Remove and Install the A/C Condenser Core on Ford Taurus?
    A:
Before removing the condenser core start by disconnecting battery ground cable and recovering the refrigerant from the vehicle. Start by taking out the two bolts after which you should detach the four scrivets before removing the Grille. Remove the two pin-type retainers that are mounted on the rear section of the grille opening reinforcement. Begin by supporting the vehicle under elevation and remove the lower radiator Air Deflector through five screw removal. Also detach the air deflector if present and continue with seven more screws. The first step is to dispose of the plastic wire tie together with the condenser core refrigerant lines which require removal of their O-ring seals. When installing these components you must use fresh O-ring seals that contain PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA or an equivalent product which fulfills WSH-M1C231-B Ford specifications. The pin-type retainers along with the LH and RH side air deflectors need removal after which you should unfasten the bolts before lowering the condenser core steadily. After reversing the removal process apply the installation steps and end by testing for leaks then charging the A/C system.
