The Fuel Level Sensor is a device indispensable to the proper functioning of Ford Freestar vehicles. It is an electronic device situated in the fuel tank, which gives the fuel level and other related information that is useful to the driver. High temperature performance is incorporated in the Fuel Level Sensor that comes with float, actuating rod and a resistor to give accurate signals to the fuel gauge. This functionality plays an essential role in increasing the performance and safety of the Ford Freestar since drivers are informed when it is time for refueling rather than risking to face complications from the car's "full" readings. Specific to the Freestar models, the Fuel Level Sensor shines through the product line because of its durability and low power consumption. Also, the sensor appears to be very durable and resistant to the activities of regular driving as it has been viewed as a viable option for drivers of Ford Freestar. Also, the Fuel Level Sensor aids in the general safety of the car, as fuel measurements are quite crucial for the premier performance. Due to its highly technological but accessible features, the Fuel Level Sensor is a good example of Ford's quality and technology making it a standout in the auto industry.

Ford Freestar Fuel Level Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel level sensor on Ford Freestar?
    A:
Service and repair operations on the fuel level sensor should start by setting the vehicle to neutral gear position and placing it on a hoist. First relieve pressure in the fuel system to stop accidental spraying before disconnecting the Battery Cable. Secure the fuel pump module by documenting how to reinstall the sending unit wire. First detach the fuel pump module wire harness while unwrapping the sending unit wire then take off the heat shrink tube and disconnect the electrical connector. The fuel gauge sending unit extraction requires removal of the screw and subsequent lifting and removal of the unit. Install the fuel gauge sending unit wire into the center of the fuel pump module while both wires should be placed behind the metal sending unit plate during installation. Position the fuel gauge sending unit onto the pump module while keeping the grounding eyelet on the front side and apply torque to the screw through the grounding eyelet. You should use a heat gun to heat up the heat shrink tube before attaching it to the wire harness and electrical connector. When the fuel pump module is back in place, the sending unit wire needs to wrap around the harness to prevent float arm disruption.
