A vehicle placed on a hoist needs to be in neutral while a technician recovers refrigerant before starting compressor manifold and tube assembly service procedures. The procedure starts with unscrewing and removing the suction accumulator outlet fitting nut and discarding the O-ring seal before installing a new fitting which needs to be tightened to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). First separate the auxiliary line fitting using a wrench then discard both the O-ring seal and apply the new fitting while torquing it to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). First disconnect and then remove the compressor manifold while also taking out the tube bracket bolt and high-pressure switch electrical connector. Remove the compressor manifold bolt before discarding the O-ring seals and tightening the new installation to 21 Nm (15 lb-ft). Replace the condenser inlet fitting nut with a new one by discarding the O-ring seal first and tightening the assembly to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Re-install the compressor manifold and tube assembly by following the removal steps but replace the O-rings with new ones and apply the correct amount of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system. The last step includes evacuation followed by a leak test combined with refrigerant system charging.
