How to service and repair the auxiliary heater core on Ford Explorer?

Service and repair operations on the auxiliary heater core must begin with positioning the vehicle in neutral mode on a hoist. Use suitable tools to clamp off heater underbody hoses where they attach to the floorpan bracket and take off the 2 heater hose clamps. Initially remove both the rear quarter trim panel together with the 2 auxiliary line floorpan bracket nuts. Inside the vehicle above the floorpan line bracket you will find the screw and line bracket which need their 4 screws removed to extract the line bracket. To begin the installation disconnect the auxiliary harness electrical connector while also taking out the 2 auxiliary housing bolts and auxiliary housing nut according to the torque specifications of 7 Nm (62 lb-in). Separate the two blend door actuator electrical connectors then unscrew the three screws on the auxiliary blend door actuator to extract it. Separate the auxiliary temperature blend door actuator by removing all its 3 screws. The 4 heater core cover screws need removal followed by the heater core cover while disconnecting 2 heater core hose clamps until you can remove the auxiliary heater core. The heater core installation requires following the removal steps in reverse order with plain water hose lubrication optionally and post-installation of engine cooling system fluid.
