The first step to fix the power liftgate rod involves removing the LH quarter trim panel. The service requires unclipping the power liftgate rod from the motor assembly by pressing on the clip to free it while moving it to the top of the rod assembly. Secure the retaining nut between the power liftgate rod and liftgate by applying threadlock to its threads. Then install it with 11 Nm of torque (97 lb-in). After taking out the power liftgate rod-to-bracket bolt and power liftgate rod assembly, you need to install them with a torque of 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). Conclude the repair by completing the reverse procedures followed by power liftgate landing.
