The first step when servicing the hood cable should be to disconnect the battery. Start by removing both the
Hood Latch followed by its pin-type retainers. You must set the
Air Deflector to reach the hood cable guide before taking out the guide together with any other remaining guides. The powertrain control module (PCM) alongside the A-pillar lower trim panel both need to be taken off. The vehicle must support the hood latch release/park brake bracket after you remove all the nuts from this section of the vehicle. Release the cable conduit then detach the hood cable from its handle. Before finishing the installation process remove the hood cable and dash panel grommet through the front access point of the vehicle. The reverse steps of installation should follow the removal procedure.
