  A worker must remove the Hood Latch before starting hood cable servicing operations. The first step to repair the hood latch requires detaching the hood latch control handle along with the cable from the instrument panel steering column cover by removing the nut and control handle and cable. Seize the front fender splash shield and eliminate its pin-type retainers along with screws. Detach the clips which hold the hood latch control handle and cable next. Install wire of appropriate length to the hood latch end of the control handle and cable assembly for the removal from the passenger compartment. Join the wire end to the hood latch section of the control handle and new cable assembly while conducting the attachment process. Tear into the proper placement then reinstall the nut to the instrument panel steering column cover of the control handle and cable combination. To finish the installation process secure the hood latch control cable clips then put back the front fender splash shield before installing the hood latch.
