The service for accumulator HVAC and auxiliary climate control begins with refrigerant discharge for recovery purposes. The necessary procedure begins by removing both battery and tray after screwing the screws facing the components. The correct procedure requires using a wrench at both ends of the fitting to disconnect the
Evaporator discharge line without damaging the A/C fitting followed by disconnecting the auxiliary evaporator to compressor tube spring lock coupling. Discharge the A/C cycling switch connector by removing its screw before unscrewing the suction accumulator/drier installation. The A/C cycling switch should be taken out from the system. New suction accumulator/driers should receive PAG compressor oil YN-12c, F7AZ-19589-DA or WSH-M1C213-B equivalent to Ford specification for proper servicing. Install the A/C cycling switch by using PAG compressor oil to lubricate the new O-ring seals. Charge the suction accumulator/drier with PAG compressor oil before you install and screw it into place. The A/C cycling switch connector and the evaporator discharge line need to be connected after applying PAG compressor oil on new O-ring seals. The auxiliary evaporator needs installation onto compressor line spring lock coupling through the screw. The last step includes reinstalling the battery tray followed by the battery and subsequent evacuation and charging of the A/C system.
