The Ford E-150 Radius Arm is one of the main parts of the Ford E-150's suspension assembly; it is famous for its sturdiness and efficiency. This crucial link assigns the axle to the car structure and categories the wheel movement to make the vehicle more stable. Brake dive and out of control wheel movement are problems which can be contributed by excessive wheel motion hereby the Radius Arm greatly contributes in its reduction for efficiency as well as safety. Both stamped steel and aluminum could be used in the construction of the Ford E-150 Radius Arm, and the byproduct of this is that unnecessary add-ons have not been included, with a view to increasing the overall weight of the vehicle, and in the process affecting the vehicle's maneuverability adversely. Being compatible with the different E-150 models like; the truck, passenger car, and the front-wheel drive van, makes it a very essential part of Ford lineup. However, due to the advanced growth in the designing and materials used over the years the Radius Arm has acquired additional utility propelling it to be a distinct feature in the Automotive Industry. It is therefore very important that the Radius Arm, and specifically its bushings, are well taken care of since it significantly contributes to the Ford E-150's performance as well as the safety of its drivers. Along with the given longitudinal wheel motion control, the Ford E-150 Radius Arm bears an added advantage when it comes to the vehicle's performance, safety, and efficiency, further growing Ford E-150's strong brand appeal to the drivers who are looking for the powerful and stable car.

Ford E-150 Radius Arm Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service the front radius arm on Ford E-150?
    A:
You should begin the front radius arm service by taking out the front coil spring initially. The procedure starts by discarding the Shock Absorber lower nut and sliding the shock absorber off the radius arm. Install the new nut by tightening it to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.) during the installation process. Remove the radius arm-to-axle nut and bolt and spring retainer with insulator. Discard these components and Replace them with new ones which should be torqued to 300 Nm (221 ft. lbs.) during installation. After removing the radius arm rear hardware which includes the rear nut and washer and rear insulator you will keep the rear nut for disposal but tighten the new one to 133 Nm (98 ft. lbs.) before reinstallation. First normalize the radius arm's bracket connection and remove the spacer together with insulator and washer from its position. The spring and radius arm insulators require inspection before possible replacement. After finishing the opposite process reinstall the radius arm. The suspension system requires new parts of matching part numbers only during replacements while following torque values during installation to keep the system strong.
