2008 Lincoln Mark LT Brake Disc Parts Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace the Brake Disc on 2008 Lincoln Mark LT?
A: First, remove the wheel combined with its tire before beginning rotor/disc replacement work. Maintain care when the caliper and anchor plate assembly hangs from the brake hose because damage may occur. Remove the two bolts from the anchor plate and place the caliper and anchor plate assembly neatly aside with mechanic's wire support. First remove the cotter pin from the spindle nut retainer then proceed by discarding both the retainer and the nut along with the spindle nut. Pull the front brake disc off from the spindle. To install the brake disc position it correctly on the spindle then torque the new spindle nut to 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) but first rotate the disc counterclockwise five times before another torque check. Set in position the spindle nut retainer together with a new cotter pin. Secure the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly with two new bolts focused to 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) torque values while reinstalling the wheel together with tire.
