How to service and repair the starter motor on 2007 Mercury Mariner?

When servicing the starter motor, make sure that the vehicle is in neutral position on a hoist. Unscrew the battery ground cable, pull off and reconnect the starter solenoid wire nut at 5 Nm. Unscrew the cables, take off ground strap and tighten it to 25 Nm. Install starter motor bolts, and tighten each to 35 Nm, and reverse the process.
