    A: Starting the front shock absorber and spring assembly replacement process requires deploying adequate safety measures by switching off air suspension electrical power so air springs remain neutral and the vehicle maintains stability throughout service. The vehicle must be placed in neutral mode before positioning it on a hoist. The upper spring mount requires the center nut to remain in place to secure its position or else personal injury risks will occur. After installing the three shock absorber mounting bracket nuts, torquing them to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs) is necessary. When installing the caliper and anchor plate assembly keep it off the brake hose and support it with mechanic's wire before torquing shaft bolts to 160 Nm (118 ft. lbs). The hex holding feature will prevent stud rotation during the removal process of the brake disc and upper stabilizer bar link nut before discarding the link nut. Install and tighten to specification (46 ft. lbs or 63 Nm) the new link nut. The next step is to eliminate both the lower stabilizer bar link nut and the joint while discarding the nut and tightening the new link to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs). Use the hex holding feature to remove the upper ball joint nut from the wheel knuckle while also discarding the nut because final installation requires torque to 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs). Take out the lower nut and flag bolt from the shock absorber and spring assembly before discarding the nut and torquing the new one to 235 Nm (173 ft. lbs) when installing it. After shock absorber removal you should reinstall all retainers which clamp bushings by tightening them with the vehicle resting on its wheels as part of the reversal steps.
