How to service and repair the Shift Knob on 2007 Lincoln MKX?

A replacement of the MKX shift knob will require the removal of the trim ring of the selector lever and the center console trim cover. Take off the TC switch connector and pry-off the shift knob trim covers. Check the knob and replace it where necessary and then screw on a new knob. Reconnect the TC switch, and assemble the console again.
