How to service the evaporator core in an air conditioning system on 2006 Ford Fusion?

In order to service the evaporator core, perform a leak test where necessary. Change A/C desiccant cartridge only in case it is contaminated. Disassemble the heater core and evaporator housing, disconnect the wire harness and remove the screws attaching the evaporator cover. Take out the evaporator core then follow the steps backward to install it, lubricate with clean PAG oil.
