How to service and repair the brake master cylinder on 2006 Ford Fusion?

In order to check the brake master cylinder, disconnect battery and brake fluid warning switch. Wipe out brake fluid, unscrew the clutch hose, where applicable, and seal openings. Fit tighteners to 17 Nm and refit the master cylinder, which should then be bled. Only approved DOT 3 brake fluid should be used and should be handled with caution not to cause injury.
