How to Ensure Proper Functioning of the Alternator on 2005 Ford Freestar?

In order to fix the alternator, place the vehicle in neutral on a hoist. Unplug the battery, stow the accessory drive belt and unscrew the wiring harness and B+ power cable of the generator. Take out the generator bolts, loosen them and then attach them on 47 Nm when they are back in place. Installation can be accomplished by reversing the procedure.
