- Q: How to service and repair the rear lower control arm on 2002 Lincoln Continental?A: The service process for a rear lower control arm starts by turning off all air suspension electrical power to avoid unexpected air spring activity. Lift the vehicle with a hoist and remove the tire-wheels from each of the wheels before proceeding. You should separate the shock absorber actuator wiring from its routing clips whenever they become available in the repair. Discharge air from the air spring before you pull it out as well as the rear air spring seat. Begin by softening the boot seal nut before extracting it with the hex-hold function. Begin by disconnecting the rear stabilizer bar from the suspension arm before taking out the rear lower suspension arm-to-rear wheel spindle nut and bolt with its washer and the rear lower suspension arm-to-body nut and bolt.
