How to Service and Repair the Automatic Transmission Filter on 2001 Lincoln LS?

In order to service the automatic transmission fluid filter, lift up the vehicle and empty the fluid. Take out the fluid pan and the old filter and clean the pan. Install new converter drain plug, grease the filter O-rings and re-assemble the pan and the gasket. Lastly, monitor the fluid level.
